Framing
Christopher Anderson
Christopher Anderson uses dark tones and simple backgrounds,He also sometimes takes photos in black and white to make the subject stand out more because of it being a dark silhouette. His subject is usually in the centre which is where you eye would look first and there is usually a rough shape of space that isn't busy where you would look first.

Henri Cartier-Besson
Henri Cartier- Besson uses objects but mainly big shapes like a circle or the square of a door way to draw your eye towards the subject which is normally a person moving past or looking directly into the camera. His use of black and white causes the subject to stand out more because you aren't distracted by any colours.

Alex Webb
Alex Webb usually uses the objects, shadows and walls around him to black out the sides which draws you towards where the subject is . I think the use of colour makes his photos really drawing however I also think in some of the colours take your eye away from the subject like the photo in the bottom right and the one using the Mc Donnalds 'm'.

Irving Penn
Irving Penn uses a narrow room with a bold colour which draws your eye towards the person which he is photographing. He also photographs in black and white because he is using black and white film which I think ads to the photograph because you aren't drawn to any colour, you are purely drawn to the subject because the plain background and the fact there is only one subject in the photo.

laura letinsky
Laura Letinsky uses bold background colours to draw your eye on the subject and also uses edges of objects, like a table, which leads your eye towards the objects that she is photographing. She uses simple backgrounds with a simple colour pallet to make your eye go straight to the colour. Her photos also use natural light which also draws your eyes to the high contrasting light on the walls or the table which the subject is on.There aren't any dark shadows because of the use of natural light and there are also minimal amounts of objects in each photo.

BMX/Skateboard framing
J.Grant Brittain
Grant Brittain mainly takes photos in black and white which makes the subject(the skater) stand out more, usually the whole shot is not lit up which makes the subject a silhouette which catches your eye because of its harsh shadow. The large shapes also catch your eye, like the circle which the skater is skating, the circle takes up most of the space around the subject which makes the subject the main thing in the shot.

Above and Below
Through out this video there are framing shots. For example the following shots where the subject is in the middle. There are also allot of shots close up with the background out of focus or black. There are also shots of the subject with a black background which draws your eye to the subject because the background isn't interesting.

Pinterest for framing
First experiment ideas
For framing I will be using my DSLR with a 50mm lens which will make the background out of focus which will help to make the subject stand out.I will be looking for perspective lines, dark shadows to block out space and to draw your eyes to the lighter areas and other things that really stand out for example an object or a person on there own or one person looking at the lens in a crowd which makes them stand out because people usually look toward someone that is looking at them first.I will also try to keep the subject centre as it is where the eye instantly looks when u see a photo.
These photos worked well because the subjects are in the middle, on their own which catches your eye.For example the photo on the left, the child which is closet to the camera and has space around him.I also think the bold colour of the concrete makes the subject stand out.I think the path lines lead you toward the subject and I think the metal around the edges takes up space so it blocks out the rest of the shot but makes the image more interesting.
30 framing photos
I feel these photos went well because I think they all are framing photos as the subject attracts your eye first.I tried to spilt the photos up in to three sections eg. left, middle, right.I think this helped and will still help when I am taking photos because the middle is where you would look first, the the left and right can be used to find perspective lines that lead to the subject. For the portrait photos I tried to have a small tonal range(light and dark) which I think went well as you are drawn to the light parts of her face. I think i could improve by lining up my shot before I even bring the camera up to take the photo,I need to be more patient when I take these photos because it will be allot easier to wait for the subject to come into the shot then it would be for me to chase the subject.
I think the photos below are my best because the hand and the photo with the guitar have a shallow depth of field so they draw your eye to the subject straight away because the background is out of focus.I think the second photo also worked well because the subject is the only thing lit up which means the background doesn't have anything to look at so the eye is instantly drawn to the subject.I think the self portrait is also a framing photo because of the mirror which circles the subject and makes it stand out I also think because the subject is centre it makes you see the subject first.I am going to try to keep using a shallow depth of field to make the background out of focus and to also use shapes to outline and make the subject stand out.

Mike Blabac
Mike Blabac also shoots in black and white which I think gets rid of any distractions you would have from coloured photos.Mike Blabac also has the subject in the centre and the photos also have a strong contrast. Some of the photos are filled with things other than around the subject like in the first and fifth photo which makes the subject stand out because of their opposite tones(dark skater, white background)

Traced image
I chose this image because I like the big shape which is in the middle that catches your eye and I also like the lines in the background which lad you toward to subject.I think the dark subject really stands out because of the light background makes it stand out.I will take photos with objects or people in front of a simple background which is out of focus to really make the subject stand out.

First edited video for framing
I think this video went well for framing however I have noticed a few things that didn't go well.I think the first few clips were edited together well and have good transitions between each clip.I like the way it goes from out of focus then to the next clip by starting out of focus to then being in focus because it makes it not as obvious that it was a change in angle and that it was a different clip.In the next video I need to make sure that there will be more smooth transitions and will have the subject in focus at all times.
Second video
I think this set of photos are taken well on the creative and framing part however i know the photos are either too blue or yellow
3rd video
I think this video went well, I liked the transitions more in this video and I feel the subject is usually clearer, however I think I could add in more shots between each clip to add more framing clips and to also make the video more interesting with detailed objects and veiws of the scenery
